Instrument Cluster

There are numbers of light available on the Instrument Cluster/Panel of your vehicle, be it Bike,car or commercial vehicle. Number of lights can vary depending upon the model.

There are universal color asigned to these light signals:

Red – indicates a serious problem or safety issue in your vehicle. This should be attended on priority. Red may also indicate an important reminder.
Yellow/orange – means something needs to be serviced or repaired soon. If it is flashing, it is important that you take your vehicle to nearest workshop.
Green or blue – is only telling you that a system is on or operating.

IC1Brake Fluid Level Warning/Parking Brake Indicator Light

This light operates under three different type of operations:
1.The light comes on briefly when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
2.The light comes on when the parking brake is engaged with the ignition switch in the ON position.
3.The light comes on when the fluid in the brake fluid reservoir become low.
The light should go out after starting the engine, if not then there is a problem in braking system. Immediately contact the workshop.

IC2Oil Pressure Light
This light comes on when the ignition switch is turned on, and goes out when the engine is started. If there is insufficient oil pressure or oil level is less, the light will come on and remain on. If this is happening in your vehicle, check the oil level and add oil otherwise take the vehicle at nearest workshop.

IC3Charging Light
This light comes on when you put the ignition switch on, and goes off when engine is started. But if something is wrong with the charging system(Battery,Belt,Alternator) the light will continuously glow. Please visit nearest workshop to fix the problem.

IC4High Engine Coolant Temperature Warning Light
When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, this light comes on briefly so you can check that light is working. If this light blinks while driving,it means the engine is running hot. Avoid driving in this condition otherwise it will lead to actual overheating. If light stays on without blinking, then the engine is overheated. Immediately visit to workshop.

IC5Turn Signal Indicators
When you turn on the left or right turn signals, the respective green arrow on the instrument panelwill flash along with the turn signal light.

IC6Main Beam(High Beam) Indicator Light
This indicator comes on when headlight main beams(high beams)are turned on.

IC7Malfunction Indicator Light
All modern vehicles have a computer-controlled emission control system. A malfunction Indicator light is provided on the instrument panel. This light comes on when the ignition switch is turned on and goes out when engine is started. If the light comes when the engine is running, there is a problem in emission control system. You need to take the vehicle to workshop.

IC8Electric Power Steering Light
This light comes on when the ignition switch is turned ON, and goes out whenthe engine is started. If this light comes on while driving, the power steering system may not work properly. In this situation visit to nearest woorkshop.

IC9Immobilizer System Light
When the ignition switch is turned to the ON, this light comes on to let you know the light is working. If this light blinks with the ignition switch turned to ON, there may be something wrong with the Immobilizer system. You need to take the vehicle to the nearest workshop.

IC10Headlight Leveling Switch
By using this switch you can level the headlight beam according to the load condition of your vehicle.

IC11Seat belt Warning
This light gets on when you put the ignition switch on. This will not go off until you put the seat belt on.
